2024 marks 90 years since our family firm was founded. Over the last nine decades weโve grown from selling pop door-to-door in Blackpool, to supplying products to household name drink brands all around the world.
As Simpsons Beverages celebrates 90 years in business, weโre planning to grow even further to mark this milestone.
This year weโll be moving into new premises; space which will allow us to more than triple our production capacity. This new facility will specialise in the production of liquid flavour compounds, syrups and concentrates.
Caleb Simpson, Managing Director of Simpsonโs Beverages, said: โWeโre so happy to be marking this milestone year in such a big way. This new facility will further improve the way we work for our clients, helping them to stay apace of all the latest drink trends and grow. โOur focus is always on quality, to benefit both our customers and the consumers who trust and enjoy their end-products.โ
Our business was founded in 1934 by William Simpson, who started out selling pop door-to-door and supplying to hotels and hospitality venues across the resort. Business boomed and he soon had a fleet of vans supplying companies across the Fylde coast and Preston.
In the 60s, we diversified and began producing concentrates and liquid flavour compounds for drinks, becoming a private label drink manufacturer. Investing in state-of-the art machinery and expanding our teamโs skills and expertise has allowed us to become a leading concentrates, compounds, and syrup manufacturer in the UK.
In 1984 we moved from our premises in Woodland Grove to Chiswick Grove, Blackpool expanding the production facility to 26000ft.
The consistent and healthy growth of our business has prompted the acquisition of our second site which will allow us to triple production capacity as well as welcome 25 more staff over the next five years.
Our growing team is now led by four of the founderโs great-grandsons, brothers Caleb, Jason, Adrian, and Jim, along with five great-great granddaughters working across sales, customer service and quality roles.
Mr Simpson added: โAs Simpsons Beverages celebrates 90 years in business, it’s a good opportunity to reflect on how we got to this point and how weโve adapted to the changing marketplace over the years. Evolving and investing has certainly fared us well. Working to our core values has underpinned all of this, of course. And we remain an independent family firm, making our services both friendly and professional. โNow weโre looking ahead, with ambitious growth plans for our production capacity, our team, and our clients.โ
We produce a wide range of compounds for almost all drink types, including childrenโs juices, milkshakes, and slushies, to sports drinks, flavoured spirits, and premixed cocktails. These products are then all sold in the major supermarkets and via wholesalers across the UK and globally.
